I wanted to send you and email last week, but I have been so busy that I just either keep forgetting or haven’t got the time. I would like to thank you and the staff from Brisbane Sandstone for the beautiful stone plinths that you supplied us recently. They arrived last Wednesday on the truck from St George Freightlines. I went down to the Depot to personally supervise the unloading from the truck, as I was concerned about damage. The sandstone looks beautiful. I will make sure that we put the Pene-Guard Sealer on the sandstone before it is dispatched from the Depot.
I received word today that the artist sent the Bronze busts of Dowling and Leahy from Melbourne and they were being put on a St George Freightlines truck in Brisbane this morning, so we should have them here this week some time. I will send you a photo when the project is completed so you can see what the sculptures look like on the sandstone.
There will be a slight hold up now to complete the project, as I need to get a reasonable sized concrete pad put down for the plinths to be installed on, as I don’t want them damaged when staff mow around them. I did not allow for this in my original planning, as I had expected to put the plinths on individual concrete pads, but after seeing how they whip the ride on mowers around the Parks, I decided to go for a big concrete pad to make sure that the works do not get damaged.

"You can understand that because Andrea and I are not experts in the business of sandstone that we would not know how much differences there is in quality between the "A grade" blocks and "B grade" blocks. However our installers, Michael Jurgens and his other two of his team, were very impressed with the quality of the stone blocks that was chosen for the job. Mike said that some of these blocks could pass for 'A grade'."
